Dance Studio Rental
Whether it is for dance, circus, theater or any other discipline, it is possible to rent the studio of Espace Ouvert. The 2,000 square foot space is ideally configured for teaching, creating or rehearsing. It is bright and air-conditioned, with a 40' x 25' sprung floor, dance floor carpet, sound system, kitchen, and bathroom. The ceiling height is 12 feet.

WINTER INTENSIVE 2024
FROM JANUARY 18 TO FEBRUARY 23

Espace Ouvert is offering a winter intensive on Saturdays and Sundays, January 18, 19, 25, and 26, as well as February 15, 16, 22, and 23, 2025. The program includes technical classes and workshops in contemporary dance, balance, partnering, breaking, locomotion, essentrics, hip-hop, house, floorwork, electro, pilates, acro-yoga, and more.
BIG BANG SOLO PRESENTATIONS
DECEMBER 12, AND DECEMBER 13 - 7 PM

The 14th edition of the BIG BANG program is coming to an end. As usual, it will conclude with public presentations, allowing the 16 graduating artists to share the initial stages of the research and creative work they have developed throughout the program. The presentations will take place at ESPACE OUVERT on Thursday, December 12, and Friday, December 13, at 7 PM. T
SUMMER INTENSIVE 2025
DAYTIME CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

Espace Ouvert is offering a daytime summer intensive from June 30 to August 14, 2025, featuring classes and workshops in contemporary dance, floorwork, acro-dance, capoeira, hip-hop, electro, balance, breaking, acrobatics, improvisation, and acro-yoga. The sessions will run for 5 weeks, Monday to Thursday, from 10am to 4pm.
SUMMER INTENSIVE 2025
EVENING CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS

The evening summer intensive will take place from June 9 to 26, 2025, running Monday to Thursday. Each evening features a technical contemporary dance class (open to all levels) from 6 to 7pm, followed by a choreographic workshop led by Stéphanie Decourteille from 7 to 8:30pm. Participants can choose to register for a single week or extend their experience to two or three weeks.
MORNING CLASSES
FROM SEPTEMBER 11 TO DECEMBER 4

From September 11 to November 27, 2024, Espace Ouvert will offer morning contemporary dance training classes from 9 to 10:30pm for intermediate level and from 10:30am to 12pm for advanced level. This automn session will alternate between classes led by Nicole Jacobs and Stéphanie Decourteille. You can register for a single class (drop-in) or choose to purchase a multi-class card with credits for 6 or 12 classes.
EVENING CLASSES
NEW SESSION STARTING FROM SEPTEMBER 11

Until November 27, 2024, Megan Gaudreault is offering beginner-level contemporary dance classes at Espace Ouvert every Wednesday evening from 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm. Participants can register for individual drop-in classes or purchase a multi-class card with credits for 6 or 12 sessions.
BIG BANG #16
AUDITION DEADLINE: APRIL 12, 2025

The Fall 2025 program will run from September 8 to November 30, 2025, offering nearly 330 hours of classes and workshops. Sessions will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. To apply, please submit your CV, a letter of interest, a video of a dance improvisation, and a video showcasing your floorwork. You may also include a video where you discuss your artistic vision and influences. Videos can be sent via email as private YouTube or Vimeo links.

Espace Ouvert is committed to providing emerging artists with the opportunity to pursue their creative research and work in a specially-adapted studio. Your generous donation will allow us to cover the rental costs of the studio, as well as provide financial remuneration for the artists' dedicated time and effort in their creative endeavours.
