Jazz McLaughlin

Biography

Jazz McLaughlin (They/She) is a multidisciplinary artist from Vancouver. With part of their training from the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts and Broadway Dance Center, while working on Film and Television. Their extensive education and work throughout Canada and the US brought them to find their love of innate pleasurable rhythmic-based dance without a focus on technique. Growing up doing theatre, she is fascinated by our mental connection to music and how that can be expressed physically. Inspired by pedestrian movement and fostering positive connections leads them to strongly believe that dance is for everyone. They strive to create authentic and safe environments through movement, having experienced the opposite in the past. Pushing her to begin their journey of becoming a Dance Therapist, to help herself and others find freedom of expression through movement that heals. Often performing and working with all members of their family, Jazz is also deeply inspired by the artists who raised her. They are overjoyed to be in Montreal and excited to ingratiate herself into the artist community here, which they want to continue to support and help to build further.
